Al, Just in case I didn't make myself clear on the telephone, I was feeling quite frustrated while on the phone with you, partly because I couldn't hear you, couldn't understand what you were saying, and what little I did hear it sounded like you were pissing and moaning about everyone else and were failing to take any responsibility for the quality of your relations with others. Maybe I should have simply listened sympathetically while you unloaded and got things off your chest. I'm not really sure and I'd appreciate a little feedback from you. What did I do wrong? Rather than sit here and blame you for my frustration I'd like to learn how to engage you more constructively. I was hoping the phone would work but maybe we should try working here. THE FACTSARE THAT SOME PEOPLE ACTUAULLY DO CARE AND AS FOR HCC I WAS TOLD I COULD NOT EVEN CALL THEM TO IRON OUT THE SITUATION THAT MY LIFE IS IN WHICH IS GETTING BACK TO SCHOOL, THAT IS A CREDENCE I FIND UNAMERICAN AND BIGOTED, THEY ARE REALLY PISSING ME OFF AND ON TOP OF THAT MY CASE WORKER SUGARS ME UP AND DOES NOT THINK THAT I NEED HIM ACCORDING TO THE CHANCELLOR OF HCC ASMY LIASON, FURTURMORE HEHAS NOT EVEN TAKEN STEPS TO GET ME INTO A MEETING SO THAT THE RESOLUTIONS CAN BE MADE. FIRST A DOCTORS NOTE MUST BE FILED STATING THAT MY LIFE IS NOT A THREAT TO OTHERS AND MYSELF, THAT I STAY WITHIN THE STATUTES OF THE MORAL CODE OF THE CAMPUS GUIDELINES AND MY CASEWORKER KEEPS UP WITH MY PARTICIPATION IN CLASSES AND THAT MY STUDIES DO NOT INTERUPT CLASS.
OTHER THAN THAT I HAVE DEBTS TO PAY, LOVE IS IN HOSPITAL LOTS OF PEOPLE ARE OPENING UP TO ME AND ARTIFICIALLY SHOWING FRIENDSHIP THE PHONE IS RINGINGB OFF THE HOOK (AT SOMEONE ELSES HOUSE) AND MY CARE FOR MY FRIENDS IS OUT THE FRIGGEN WINDOW AS FOR JUSTIN MC COY AND THEB TATOO PARLOR NEXT DOOR, PERHAPS THEY OUGHT TO BE MORE SINCERE AND INTELLIGENT CAUSE MY MADNESS DRIVES ME EVEN CLOSER TO THE BRINK OF HOMOCIDE AND THIS IS FOR THE REASON THAT MY MIND CANT TAKE FRIGGEN ABUSSIVE PEOPLE AND MY LIFEIS SURROUNDED WITH EM. Several things came to mind as I read your reply.
1. The fact that someone may agree with you doesn't mean that what you think is 'true' for everyone. What we think or claim to be 'true' is mainly self-serving.
2. You strick me as all worked up, like in an agitated state and I'm left wondering when you last took a hike, jumped in a lake or took time out to fly a kite. Try taking a bus up to the top of Tantalus and look at the world from there. I find it looks very tranquil from there.
3. I've mentioned your propensity to blame before. Now I've dug up a favorite quotation for you. I hope my efforts pay off and you take it to heart:
"Epictatus says, "One of the signs of the dawning of moral progress is the extinguishing of blame. We see the futility of finger pointing. The more we examine our attitudes and work on ourselves, the less we are apt to be swept away by stormy emotional reactions in which we seek easy explanations for unbidden events. I found myself thinking again about your most recent phone calls, the ones in which you complain that a bill collector has threatened you harm.
First I want to know if that is correct, that you were actually threatened by this person.
Second, I would like his name and phone number. I will call him and talk to him about that. It is my understanding that such threatening tactics are illegal, perhaps legally classified as assault. At least I am willing to discuss the matter with the offending party. Just give me his name and phone number.
Finally, rest in peace, my friend.
Oh, one more thing. Let's move up to the top 'comments' and get a fresh start, the 'comments' for August 14th. I'll look there for the name and phone number.
